Jean Gabriel Pérès has been President & CEO at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts since 1999. Under his tenure, the international hotel group’s portfolio has nearly trebled in size and the EBIT result has grown continuously.

Since his appointment as head of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, he and his Executive Committee have solidified the competitiveness of the company in the upscale hospitality sector.


This leading Swiss hotel chain today belongs to the 50 leading hotel groups as determined in an international survey.

A Paris native, Jean Gabriel Pérès (born 1957), brings the optimum qualifications to successfully deal with this demanding assignment. He holds an MBA from the renowned French business school ESSEC.

After serving two years as an officer in the French navy, he collected a wide variety of international experience from senior appointments in the hospitality and luxury consumer brands segment beginning in 1982.

Jean Gabriel Pérès started his career with the Matra Lagardere Group (today EADS), where he negotiated vital partnerships with various corporations in the United States as well as in the Middle East including aeronautical agreements. In 1985, he was named Vice President Development for Africa and the Middle East at Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts.

From 1989 to 1996, he was Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Executive Committee member in the Le Meridien Group based in Hong Kong. During his tenure, he made a major contribution to the growth and income of the hotel chain.

Before taking over the position at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Jean Gabriel Pérès was Managing Director of a leading sales and distribution company for luxury goods, perfume and tobacco products with branches in 13 Asian countries.

He is a member of several corporate boards of directors and an active member of the World Travel and Tourism Council. He is married and father of four children. His interests include music, tennis and sailing.
