Kuwait zoo

Located in Omariya on the Airport Road, the Kuwait Zoo covers 180,000 square metres of parkland. The Kuwait Zoo houses 65 species of animals, 129 species of birds and five species of reptiles, apart from other animals such as lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras and many more.

Scientific Centre and Aquarium

Kuwait's Scientific Centre contains three main representations of the environment of the Arabian Peninsula region: the sea, the desert and the coastal edge. It integrates the natural habitat of the sea, as well as the natural coastal and desert habitats of the Arabian Peninsula.

The Scientific Centre’s Aquarium is the largest in the Middle East. There are scheduled public feedings at the Aquarium for visitors to witness. The Aquarium also offers a unique program called "Dive With the Sharks". This program lets divers swim alongside sharks in the main tank.

Kuwait Towers

The most distinctive architectural landmark in Kuwait is the Kuwait Towers. A cluster of three towers, it is a clever combination of modern and traditional Arabic influences.

Liberation Tower

Located in the heart of Kuwait City, the Liberation Tower is the tallest structure in Kuwait. The tower symbolises Kuwait's liberation from Iraq. It contains a revolving restaurant and an observation platform.

Entertainment City

The Entertainment City is the Disneyland of Kuwait. The City is located 20 km from Kuwait City. It provides a complete range of entertainment for every member in the family.

Aqua Park

This is one of the most enjoyable and refreshing places to go to in the hot Gulf weather. Situated in Kuwait City, Aqua Park is on the Gulf road adjacent to the famous Kuwait Towers.

This park has loads of rides like a Lazy Pool, huge giant water slides, a kiddies' pool and much more. Visitors should note that Tuesday is "Women’s' day", no men being allowed on the site during opening hours. Visitors can choose from three cafés in which to relax and have something to eat.

Dhow Harbour

The Dhow Harbour is situated right behind the Scientific Complex. Entry is free and anyone can just stroll all the way right up to this harbour to come on-board the "Fateh el Kheir". The Fateh el Kheir, which means "Bringer of Good Fortune", is the last surviving wooden dhow from the pre-oil days.

These lovely wooden ships were used for pearl divers who risked their lives trying to obtain the best quality pearls from the Arabian Gulf. Before the discovery of oil, this was one of the main trade activities in Kuwait. The dhow ship is lovely to see, but you must walk all the way around the scientific complex to catch sight of it - mind you don't miss it.
