Introduction Things to do
Muharraq is famed for its traditional souq and is adjacent to the manmade Amwaj Islands, known for its beaches. To give guests the opportunity to explore further afield, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to the Manama Souk and Seef area.
While staying in Bahrain, guests can also visit the Bahrain National Museum with its ancient archaeological artefacts or Arad Fort, a magnificent 15th century fortified castle which was built before the Portuguese invasion of Bahrain. The annual Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix is a highlight for motorsport fans.
The archipelago is also home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Qal’at al-Bahrain, the ancient harbour and capital of Dilmun. In 2012 UNESCO also assigned world heritage status to Bahrain’s pearling history, highlighting a collection of buildings in Muharraq, among others.
