Jean Gabriel Pérès
President & CEO
Jean Gabriel Pérès (b. 1957) has been the company’s President & CEO since 1999. Born in Paris, he has an MBA from ESSEC, the French business school. Following two years in the French navy, Jean Gabriel has had an international career within the hospitality and luxury goods sectors.
Before joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as President & CEO, Jean Gabriel was the Managing Director of a leading sales and distribution company for luxury goods, perfume and tobacco products with branches in 13 Asian countries.
Prior to this, he was the Managing Director for Asia Pacific of Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts and an Executive Committee member of the Le Méridien Group. During his tenure with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts he was based in Hong Kong. In a previous capacity, he was the Group’s Vice President Development for Africa and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts he negotiated strategic partnerships, including aeronautical agreements with corporations in the United States and the Middle East for the Matra Lagardere Group (today EADS).
Jean Gabriel is a board member of Orascom Development and an active member of the World Travel & Tourism Council. He resides with his family in Paris and is a vivid tennis player and sailor.
Senior Vice President Brand & Marketing
John Griffin (b.1959) joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2010 as Senior Vice President Brand & Marketing. John holds a degree in Marketing Management from the Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
John has an extensive international experience in marketing, branding and communication. Prior to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, he was Vice President of Marketing of Bangkok-based Minor International, the operator of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
He has also been Vice President Worldwide Marketing and Director of Loyalty Programs with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. His marketing career began with American Express International Inc. Australia & New Zealand where he was for 16 years as Director of Advertising & Credit products.
John, who has an uncanny interest in the 1960s American sitcoms, currently resides in Zurich with his wife.
Chief Operating Officer Europe
Ola Ivarsson, (b. 1954) a Swedish national, is Chief Operating Officer Europe. He joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as Senior Vice President Europe.
Prior to joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Ola was Vice President Central Europe for Hilton Hotels. In a previous role, he was in charge of Hilton Hotels in Eastern Europe.
Over an eleven year period, Ola held a number of executive management roles with Scandic Hotels, including Managing Director Scandic Europe and was part of the executive team who took Scandic to be a publically listed company.
He commenced his service industry career with Scandinavian Airlines’ Service Partner division, where he managed various subsidiaries in Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Ola is a graduate of the Gothenburg School of Economics, a passionate equestrian and resides outside of Zurich. He is married with two grown-up children.
Senior Vice President Africa
Ireland born, Alan has held several senior Revenue Management positions with Le Meridien and IHG before joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2005 as Vice President Revenue Management.
For the past 2 years Alan took on additional responsibilities as Vice president of Revenue Strategy & Development and most recently, Senior Vice President Africa. Alan holds a BA Degree in Hotel & Catering Management from GMIT Galway, Ireland.
Chief Operating Officer Middle East and Asia
Andreas Mattmüller (b. 1954) is Chief Operating Officer Middle East & Asia. He joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2001 as Senior Vice President Middle East.
In 1994, Andreas joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel as General Manager of the Oriental Singapore. Following this, he was the Operations Director Asia & Europe for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, based in Hong Kong from 1997 to 2001.
Prior to the Mandarin Oriental, Andreas held numerous leadership roles with the Le Méridien Group including General Manager of the Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, Le Méridien Hotel Kuwait and Resident Manager of the Regal Méridien Airport Hotel, Hong Kong.
Andreas started his hospitality career with the Penninsula Group in 1979. He is a native to Switzerland a graduate of the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne.
Chief Financial Officer
Pascal Voyame (b. 1961) joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as Senior Vice President Finance & Controlling in 2000.
Pascal came to the Mövenpick Group in 1998 as Head Internal Audit. After becoming a certified public accountant in 1996, he was appointed Internal Auditor at the Swiss Re Group in Zurich. His auditing background began with Deloitte & Touche in Basel.
Prior to this, Pascal held various assignments both within Switzerland and abroad as a member of the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s consular services between 1986 and 1990 stationed in Berne, Vienna and Chicago.
Pascal resides in Zurich with his wife and is a passionate soccer fan.
Senior Vice President Human Resources
English born Craig grew up between Europe and the Middle East and returned back to his native England to receive his hospitality degree from Sheffield Hallam University.
Craig worked in a variety of Human Resources leadership positions with the Jumeirah Group prior to joining MH&R as Vice President Human Resources Middle East & Asia and most recently, Senior Vice President Human Resources.
